The Listening Room goes American, Saturday 20th September
Doors 6.30pm - 9pm
The Listening Room brings you a double bill of folk and traditional music with an American flavour, featuring American singer and guitarist Gerda Pickin and North East-based duo Cloth Eared Mule.
Cloth Eared Mule play traditional old time American music from the Appalachian mountains and beyond. Expect a weird and wonderful collection of old time fiddle & banjo tunes and songs from the pre dust bowl era as well as some of more modern origin.
Gerda Pickin has been on the folk scene since she arrived from California in the 70's. She has been in various collaborations, including Pickin, Blant, and Squire, Luce Women, and Late Bloomers. Her repertoire includes music from England, Scotland, Ireland, and America. She sings from the heart, and chooses songs because she loves them--as simple as that.
