The Reading Out Loud Club
The Reading Out Loud Club
WHEN: Every 3rd Monday of the month from 6pm until 7.30pm
Join us for an evening of sharing your favourite pieces of prose or poetry. Paula is founder member of T.R.O.L.S (The Reading Out Loud Society) and has been reading aloud with a group of friends and colleagues for well over 10 years now.
There is a particular delight and comfort in listening to well loved words and there is also research which suggests that reading out loud is good for the memory and also for making those ever important social connections through discussion and sharing time together.
There will be a suggested theme each month and you come along to Dry Water with your selected reading and enjoy the smorgasbord of literary delights. Don't worry if you don’t want to read out loud as someone can read for you.
In the 10 years Paula has been involved with reading out loud she has been delighted, challenged intrigued and puzzled but always engaged and often inspired by the words that matter to people
Paula says "I have loved the range of readings. I have always loved being read to, it's such a nourishing way to digest and experience words. Some of my fellow readers have read out recipes or instructional manuals and we have always been entertained and had amazing connective conversations afterwards. It sparks ideas, triggers memories and connects us"
Refreshments and snacks are served and feel free to bring a bottle.
£5 per session, booking is essential
