The art of Kintsugi is visible mending with gold. Kintsugi was the theme of our Kin project. It gave us a metaphor to contemplate the challenges of Covid and an opportunity to imagine how we would repair and recover.
Through a wide range of creative workshops, classes and celebrations we discovered that it is in each other we find the gold which repairs and connects. When the world seems chaotic it is in each other we find hidden treasure.
The arts centre was filled with images, traces and threads of connection drawn from our year long Kin engagement programme. For us the real gold is found in the transformative power of conscious and creative community building.
