Ebru - Traditional Turkish Marbling Workshop

Ebru is a traditional Islamic and Turkish art also known as marbling.
It is one of the oldest forms of Turkish art, but exactly where or when it started remains unknown.The basic technique involves paints that are made to float on the surface of thickened water where they are manipulated into designs using needles/ sticks/ brushes  and then transferred

onto paper and fabrics..

 On this course you will learn how to use traditional Turkish natural pigment paints to create fabulous patterns. 

The rich and vibrant colours we will be using come from Istanbul to enable an authentic experience. You will also learn how to make traditional marbling brushes using dried rose stems and horsehair.

Price includes all materials and tea / coffee / cake.
