ReKINdle
Last Saturday, 12th November at Amble Little Shore, we held an outdoor celebration in a promenade style celebrating KINship and connection. Directed and curated by Dry Water Arts, over 2000 people promenaded around the magically transformed Little Shore Harbour in Amble. One small boy commented “Its Beautyfantastical”.

“Rekindle was amazing, one of the best events of this type we have been to in years. It was so beautiful. Thank you for your hard work and creativity”
S. Rzepczynski
“My family have lived in Amble for generations and I have never felt more proud of our little coastal town. It showed Amble in an even more beautiful light if that is at all possible”
S. Brown
ReKINdle featured an array of magical banner/kite installations, projections and an atmospheric soundscape with voices of local people and children. Amble’s Harbour Lights Choir were central to the feel good anthem Good in the World with words provided by people living with dementia who attend Dry Water Arts Centre. The song can be heard and purchased here and all proceeds support Dry Water’s Dementia Positive programme.
Other Contributing Artists included:
The Giant Phoenix made by Amble Coastal Rowing Club
Banner artist Pauline Taylor
Kite artists Karl and Sara Longbottom
The First Bird and Sanctuary composed by John Kefala Kerr
Street performance by Bell and Bullock
ReKINdle was part of Dry Water’s Arts Council Funded project KIN. A massive thank you to the 50 volunteers, aged 8 to 82, who worked alongside Dry Water artists Frances Anderson and Paula Turner to make ReKINdle possible.
