There are several types of Japanese accordion book. You will be making a book based on the Orihon structure which was developed during the Heian period (794-1185) and was traditionally used for Buddhist sutras. It was more convenient than a long scroll ! You will experiment with Shibori and dip dye techniques on Japanese paper to make your book cover and then learn how to paste pages together with traditional rice glue to create the book.
