Yin yoga is typically associated with a more passive type of yoga , however it is a practice which can be incredibly useful for the maintenance of healthy connective tissues, bones , ligaments and joints. We all need a certain amount of compression in order that our tissues stay healthy , strong and resilient.
Following a joint freeing warm up, specific yin yoga postures will be held for anything between 30 secs to two minutes. This staying phase allows some necessary compression to be received in the bones , joints and fascia - essential for overall strength and stability……
Yin yoga allows us to be slow and steady and to re-balance our energy and our minds. It is a practice which naturally brings about a sense of calm contemplation whilst helping us to strengthen our bodies.
